What kind of success do you want?

Everyone wants to be successful! There's no doubt about that!! But what kind of success? Is it achievement of the highest honor or the accomplishment of something you have always dreamed of?
Is it a standard we set for ourselves or one that society sets for us?
Its probably a mixture of both.
When we're measuring someone else's success we look at the medals on his walls, the large mansion he has or the kind of car he has in his driveway. How often do we look at the person he is?
How often do we look up to the success of a man who may be a sweeper.. his so called achievements daily would be a clean floor, there are no medals to prove that, there is most definitely no large house or vehicle that can show the measure of his success.
But sometimes there is way more success there than in that large mansion.

In today's world a man's worth is measured by mere worldly things; things that money can buy.
Which means we're really associating success with the guy's bank balance. Are we idolizing money? Of-course not! We're not that shallow are we? Or so we'd like to believe!

Real success comes from being a good person, of leading an honest life, of making sure you are there for the people you care about, of making the right choices despite having the wrong option. Its when you do something good for someone else without any expectations. Real success gives a joy that is everlasting, not the kind that money buys.Things that money can buy can be broken and lost and at some point have no value at all.

We're supposed to be the youth of today, the people of tomorrow!! When we sit down to write our goals and where we see ourselves 10-20 yrs from now; yes medals should be on that list. Cars and houses all come from hard work, but let us not measure our success based on material things.Let us be a generation that strives for real success, which comes from even harder work. But is accompanied by real happiness! The kind that the majority may not see but the kind people will remember us by.
